The activities of the club fall into the following categories:

 

Short Courses:

  The club has provided the following short courses:

  • Photoshop: The Photoshop is a well-known software graphics package. This short course was provided from 21-9-2003 to 24-9-2003. The lecturer of this course was Ahmad Konash (a student of Architecture Dept.).

Free Hand Drawing: The audiance of this short course were taught the basics of free hand drawing and the methodologies of shade projection on objects. This short course was provided from 11-10-2003 to 15-10-2003. The lecturer of this course was Dr. Richard Luckenz (a faculty member of Architecture Dept.).

AutoCad: AutoCad is a well-known software package for architectural design. Two short courses were provided in AutoCad, one was for advanced audiance and the other was for beginners. They were provided from 1-3-2004 to 3-3-2004. The lecturer of these courses was Dr. Jamal Al-Qawasemi ( a faculty member of Architecture Dept.).

Land Scape Design: Land scape design is a very important feild that an architect should be aware of. This short course was held from 6-3-2004 to 9-3-2004 by Mr. Hasan Al-nozhah.

Seminars:

  The following are the seminars that were arranged and coordinated by the club:

  • Untraditional building materials: This seminar was held on 20-10-2003 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm by Dr. Farooq Konash( a faculty member of Architectural Engineering Dept.). He concentrated on the possibility of using untraditional building materials without affecting the safety and economical factors of the building. Dr. Konash ended this seminar with explaining the methodology of building using mud structure.

Rock formation: This seminar was held on 8-10-2003 by Mr. Hasan Al-Nozhah ( a faculty member of Architecture Dept.). He talked about the importance of the utilization of rock formation in adding beauty to streams, beaches and rivers.

Competitions:

  There is a competition that is still in effect called "Art 4". It includes the following:

  •         Arabic script.
  •         Drawings.
  •         Digital design.
  •         Light design.

  This competition aims at improving the level of creativity of students as well as providing opportunities to them to discover their abilities. The participations will be judged by five jourers from the faculty of Architecture Department. The participations of the winners will be shown in the annual exhibition.

  The conditions of this competition are as follows:

  • The participated work should be within a 2-inch-thick cardboard frame.

    • The participation must be within the boundaries of ethics.
    •  
    • Name, ID and telephone number of the participant should be written in the back of the participated work.

Participations:

  The club has participated in a number of symposiums and exhibitions as follows:

  • The fifth educational week for GCC: The club participated in this educational week as a representitive of the university.

    The first symposium on the development of the academic city planning programs & practice in Saudi Arabia: This symposium took place on 14 & 15-10-2003. The club participated in the arrangement of this symposium. 

    The symposium of the national building heritage and how to preserve and develope it: This symposium took place from 30-9-2003 to 3-10-2003. The club participated in this symposium with posters of its previuos annual exhibitions.

Trips:

  The club members and some of the faculty have gone for a trip to Tabuk in the period from 22-3-2004 to 26-3-2004. This trip is considered as a case study for Tabook.

The Exhibition:

  Annually, the club hold an exhibition. This year,  the club will hold an exhibition from 24-4-2004 to 30-4-2004 with a title of "Art 4".
