How to Use Smart Classrooms in Building 24

Many class rooms in building 24 have network connected computer with an infocus projector for assistance in delivering presentations. This page describes computer usage instructions. It also gives contact details in case you face any difficulty.

List of Rooms

Currently following rooms have network connected computers in building 24: 104, 106, 112, 114, 125, 135, 141, 146, 165, 178, 137, 156, 158, 180.

Computer Usage Instructions

  1. These computers are provided for use by faculty and staff to conduct lectures. Students are not authorized to use these computers or connect their laptops with the network connection.
  2. In order to access these computers use your ITC proxy account and password. The logon to domain is ITC.
  3. If you are unable to login with your personalized account due to any network problem then as a backup you can use a guest account with limited access rights. The guest account is named as smartuser and there is no password set for this account. This guest account smartuser allows only execution of Power Point application. It is active from 7:00am-9:00pm during working days.
  4. Most of the popular applications are already installed on these computers. If your required application is not available then you can request ITC for installation of your application. You are supposed to register your request at least a week before the use of application. University wide software installation policy is applicable on these computers. According to this policy unlicensed softwares are not supported.
  5. Do not unplug or remove any cable from these computers.
  6. After the completion of your class, logoff from computer and bring infocus projector to standby mode.

  8. These machines have Deep Freeze software installed on them. This software provides an easy mechanism to restore machine back to its original state. You can restart these machines if you see any unwanted information or application on the machine. This will clean the machine and bring it back to its initial state.
  9. Following figures show the back of computer for cabling and wall mounting for network connection. These figures will help you to connect any unplugged cable.
