Message from the Dean of KFUPM Libraries

The Deanship of Library Affairs is fully committed to supporting the academic and research programs of the university by providing quality information resources and services. In developing the library collection, our emphasis is on digital resources of e-books, e-journals and others. In the case of e-journals, our goal is to have a complete run of key journals in each subject area. We have recently joined the Saudi Digital Library (SDL) project that gives our users access to more than 140,000 e-books. SDL is a project of the National Center for E-Learning (NCEL), run by the Ministry of Higher Education.

We are working on to provide the title-level access to over 16,000 e-journals and more than 200,000 e-books relevant to our academic profile. In addition to building our e-resources, we would like them to be used by faculty, researchers and students. In this regard, our priority will be to acquire the Link Resolver to allow title-level access to each journal and book titles included in tens of e-databases we are subscribing to through the online catalog (iBistro). We also plan to provide federated search facility that will enable users to search all e-databases with a single search term.

We would like to seek the cooperation of all academic departments, especially their faculty to send their comments and feedback on library resources and services for improving them. Please also recommend titles relevant to your subject areas for ordering by the library.
