Water Flooding

The course provides basic theoretical and design aspects of waterflooding processes. Starting with derivation and analysis of the fractional-flow equation, the course introduces the theory and modes of immiscible displacement, namely piston-like and frontal-advance mechanisms. Simple performance prediction techniques, including injectivity analysis, for linear and pattern floods of both homogeneous and heterogeneous reservoirs are covered at the end. Participants are engaged in typical design cases.
